Faculty of Economics and Business UNESA Hosts Guest Lecture on Entrepreneurial Leadership with Dr. Norizah Mohd Mustamil from Universiti Malaya
Surabaya, August 8, 2025 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Surabaya (FEB UNESA), successfully hosted a prestigious international Guest Lecture and academic collaboration event with Associate Professor Dr. Norizah Mohd Mustamil from the Department of Management & Marketing, Faculty of Business & Economics, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia.
Held at the Smart Classroom Building G3, the Guest Lecture carried the theme “Entrepreneurial Leadership for Sustainable Economic Transformation: Bridging Innovation, Ethics, and Human Capital.” This event was part of FEB UNESA’s strategic commitment to promoting Impactful Campus (Kampus Berdampak) values by enhancing international academic collaboration and global learning exposure for students.

Official Opening by the Dean of FEB UNESA
The session was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. Dr. Anang Kistyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., who delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the relevance of entrepreneurial leadership in shaping a sustainable future. He noted that today’s business environment demands more than just innovation — it requires ethical, visionary, and people-oriented leaders.
“We are proud to welcome Associate Professor Dr. Norizah to UNESA. This event aligns with our commitment to equipping students with a global mindset, ethical values, and leadership readiness for real-world impact,” said Prof. Anang.
Insightful Lecture and Interactive Discussion
Dr. Norizah presented a compelling lecture that explored how entrepreneurial leadership serves as a key driver of sustainable economic transformation. She emphasized the integration of innovation and ethics, highlighting that true transformation must be inclusive and grounded in human capital development.
The lecture was followed by an interactive Q&A session, during which students and lecturers engaged in meaningful discussions on how leadership, ethics, and innovation can be applied in Indonesia’s business landscape. Participants expressed their appreciation for the international perspective and real-world applications shared during the session.
“Entrepreneurial leadership isn’t only about innovation and risk-taking,” Dr. Norizah explained. “It’s also about cultivating human values and ethical responsibility to ensure long-term impact.”
Academic Discussion and Strategic Partnership Agreement
After the morning lecture and lunch break (ISHOMA), the event continued with an Academic Discussion session, facilitated by Moderator Maryam Bte Badrul Munir. This session focused on exploring future collaboration between FEB UNESA and Universiti Malaya, particularly in areas such as joint research, curriculum development, student and faculty exchange programs, and co-publications.
A major highlight of the afternoon session was the official signing of the International Academic Agreement (IA) between both institutions. The document was signed by faculty leaders and symbolized a significant step toward strengthening the global engagement of FEB UNESA. This was followed by an exchange of souvenirs and a group photo session to mark the occasion.
“We believe this collaboration with Universiti Malaya will open wider opportunities for our faculty and students to engage in impactful global academic endeavors,” said a representative from the FEB UNESA international office.
